Overview
Develops, evaluates, and enhances manufacturing methods by utilizing knowledge of design of products, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.
Essential Job Duties:
- Analyze, design, and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to ensure safety and adherence to regulatory standards, maximizing quality and efficiency
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization
- Confer with design engineers and product managers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
- Determine the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications including upgrades to existing equipment or capital expenditure planning
- Confer with internal contacts or vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
- Design testing methods of production capabilities and product and process quality to confirm safe and efficient manufacturing processes
- Keep test fixtures and tooling operational through preventive maintenance and established manufacturer's instructions
- Provide new and refresher standards training for personnel
- Complete all training as assigned, uphold all company policies and procedures
- Maintain and develop manufacturing processes and systems in support of printed circuit board assembly utilizing through hole and surface mount
Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Must have two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, with preference given to those with Lean manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience with electro-mechanical assembly, surface mount equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of C, C++, or .NET programming is a plus.
- Experience working under IPC-610 is a plus.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with engineering software is a plus.

- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- General factory and manufacturing setting. Exposed to moderate to high noise levels.
