Overview
Oversee and manage overall supply chain and logistics operations to maximize efficiency, reduce risk, and minimize cost of organization's supply chain, work effectively with the plant and field operations teams, engineering and accounting to deliver on supply chain and sourcing outcomes. Provide support and mentor site level purchasing personnel as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for production planning, forecasting, material procurement, inventory control, warehousing, rate setting, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution
- Identify and lead strategic supplier or outsourcing efforts including identification, selection negotiations, contract process and implementation to meet all requirements for legal, safety, ethics, quality, delivery, costs, and cash
- Manage costs and cash flow through pricing, term improvements, payment options, MR&O, and freight
- Lead supplier consolidation efforts across various business units
- Develop and perform audit and review process of current suppliers for compliance to terms, conditions, performance, and engagement standards, risk identification and mitigation
- Manage off-shire supplier relationships
- Lead inventory management processes to improve inventory turns and reduce excess & obsolete materials, prevent excess stock and backorders
- Assure that departmental and support personnel are focused on continuous improvement of products and processes
- Collaborate with multiple-functional managers and plant level purchasing teams to implement proper sourcing practices and policies, and develop plant level sourcing objectives
- Support the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Product Management departments with supplier and/or product data as needed
- Uphold company policies and execute on other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing) or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in production, scheduling, or materials management role
- Demonstrated experience with offshore sourcing, supply chain management, piece part manufacturing and assembly operations for electronic and mechanical products
- Demonstrated experience using Lean Manufacturing toolsets
- APICS certification is highly preferred

- Travel, including international, is required through the year including the company's manufacturing facilities in Meridian, MS, and St. Johnsbury, VT and Customer Service Support locations throughout the US, as well as vendors and suppliers as needed - 10% or less
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- General office conditions, sitting at desk to work on computer for long periods of time. Exposed to moderate noise levels
- Travel to manufacturing or vendor sites may require PPE, encountering typical factory setting including loud noises and uneven terrain
