This position is responsible for the administration of an effective technical training program for Fairbanks Scales and its customers through the development and use of online, instructor-led, and virtual training methodologies to further enable the ability to promote, sell, install, and service our products.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Designs, develops and maintains competency tracking and instructional training programs using effective learning strategies and proven instructional design techniques.
  • Collaborates with engineering, sales, service, and product development departments to ensure users are provided with high-quality materials and training tools.
  • Administers and maintains the LMS which houses online training modules, employee training records, and employee training activities/progress of on-the-job training
  • Works with subject matter experts to develop online training materials and training videos.
  • Identifies future training needs and creates curriculums to present to management for consideration.
  • Develops activities and exercises that measure the trainee's comprehension.
  • Organizes and develops facilitator guides, training procedure manuals, and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Administers and participates in instructor-Led training classes, both in person and virtual.
  • Monitors, evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Delivers training reports to key stakeholders.
  • Assess training needs/assessments through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.
  • Develops and delivers train-the-trainer instruction to improve instructor effectiveness.
  • Evaluates training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, and handouts; and work with instructors to improve learning transfer, retention, and application.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in administering a Learning Management System with SCORM requirements.
  • Proficient in creating video-based training materials with LMS authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.

Work Environment:

  • General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • The typical schedule is weekdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm but up to 20% travel may be required and minimal weekend availability may be required.
  • Must be able to don PPE including hearing protection, safety boots, or glasses where required for on-site manufacturing or construction areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience developing and delivering online learning solutions.
  • Two years of experience as an instructional designer with proven experience developing instructor-led and e-learning courses.

Physical Abilities:

  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
  • Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
  • Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
