Summary

The Regional Director is responsible for Sales and Service management for approximately one-fourth of the United States. This is a critical field management position within the company - key to driving growth and executing critical corporate initiatives at the Regional and Local Levels. Each Regional Director will have between twelve and twenty direct reports, approximately sixty indirect reports, and will be responsible for roughly 25% of the company's revenue generation and maintenance of profit margins. Development of a Safety Culture, Driving Revenue Growth and Instilling Operational Excellence will be the primary responsibilities of this individual. This position will report to the Vice President - Marketing & Customer Development.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Set the example for and drive a Safety Oriented Culture with the understanding that our goal is to be an accident-free company.
  • Develops and manages to an annual budget for both Product and Service within a specified Region.
  • Analyze Local and Regional Market Data to evaluate workforce requirements, threats, and opportunities
  • Identify training needs at the local and regional levels
  • Interfaces with other functional groups within the business as required to achieve stated business objectives
  • Recruit, Interview, Hire and develop Sales and Service Management team
  • Interview all new Technicians as a final "plus one" talent check
  • Develop individual Sales and Service Manager's goals and objectives for the year
  • Understand and support all Regulatory issues affecting the business including: DOT, W&M, OSHA, MSHA, and others
  • Evaluate and work with Service management to maximize fleet utilization
  • Ensure compliance with DOT HOS requirements
  • Work cooperatively with the Service Management team, VP-Marketing and Customer Development, VP - Field Operations, and HR to consistently execute company HR policies
  • Must have a strong understanding of key financial reports and must be able to educate direct reports on the same
  • Must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of key business systems, including: Fairbanks Intranet/Nexus, Metrix (IFS-FSM) software, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, , UKG, PRMS ERP as well as an understanding of how these systems relate and are used by field level personnel.
  • Awareness of A2LA-17025 and associated work instructions
  • Supervise scheduling of quarterly safety meetings and ensure that mandatory training for OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and specific customer safety requirements are being met
  • Perform annual performance appraisals and regular employee coaching events
  • Work with Sales and Service teams to ensure that bid specifications and contract requirements are well understood and properly executed.
  • Interface with customers - both in support of Revenue Generation and problem resolution
  • Evaluate and control pricing and discounting practices within the Region consistent with corporate guidelines while understanding the competitive landscape within each territory
  • Manage Distributor relationships while working cooperatively with our Channel Development group. This will include identifying needs of the relationship as well as supporting Distributor 'touch plans' as required.
  • Play a key role in tracking and setting Tactical approach to large (100K) and complex projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years managerial experience in a service/sales organization.
  • Ability to develop effective business relationships with employees, customers and federal, state, county and city agencies.
  • Technical working knowledge of scale products and services.
  • Ability to analyze sales, financial and other administrative reports.
  • Ability to organize office/shop activities to achieve planned results.
  • Skill in negotiation and problem-solving.

Physical Demand and Work Effort:

  • Physical demands are light, consisting of sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • Work is performed in an office setting.
  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
  • Frequent travel, up to 50% of annual hours worked.
  • FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt.
